At Legacy, we know that our teachers play a critical role in our students’ success. Legacy teachers do more than just teach — they change lives — and it is important that we recognize their value and contributions in shaping the bright futures of our children.
In December 2019, Legacy’s board approved a 5% base salary increase for 2020-21 for all Legacy teachers based on their 2017-2018 base salary. Accordingly, all Legacy teachers will receive a 5% increase for 2020-21 based on their 2017-2018 base salary. The average percentage increase differs from 5% due to changes in teaching staff, resulting in varying salary levels based on new teacher recruitment and each individual’s years of experience and degrees.

Year-to-year changes in the level of teacher experience and education in the Legacy teacher population affect the average salary.
As an example, a teacher with 10 years of experience and a master’s degree may leave a school and be replaced the following year with a teacher who has four years of experience and a bachelor’s degree. This substantial difference in years of experience and education would lower the school’s average teacher salary.
When all teacher salaries are looked at in the aggregate and compared from year-to-year, the increase in the average salary for all teachers will differ from the percentage increase given to each individual teacher.
